For the past few weeks, students have been practicing reading “Old Favorite Story Books”. These are books that we read to the students every day so they learn the story and are then able to read/retell on their own. Students have been practicing saying more and more of the words that are on the page, making their words match the picture, sounding like the characters, and pointing to some of the words that they know. Students have been working really hard and we are very impressed with how well they are able to read/retell these stories! We even had a reading celebration so students could share with each other everything they learned in this past reading unit with “Old Favorite Story Books”!
